Rock

Rock Stars usually have a rebellious look about them and have, unusual hairstyles that make them stand out from the crowd.


The sound of rock is very varied but across the board they keep the beat slow and is quite common for guitar solos.


Rocks lyric have themes of drug addiction and can also usually contain lyrics regarding the song writers relationship.



Rocks audience is usually British white males over the age of 30 trying to reclaim their forgotten youth, their social class/household earnings are usually middle class and they have a normal life they probably like poker and drinking.Rock Stars usually have a rebellious look about them and have, unusual hairstyles that make them stand out from the crowd.



Motorhead- Ace of Spades

Pop

pop artists have casual outfits and never go all out on costumes, today pop artists can be anyone, meaning appearance is not similar between them.

you can usually identify a pop song from upbeat melodies, and catchy rhythm.

the topics surrounding pop lyrics are usually about parties and relationships, but less serious than that of rock.

Pop fans are multicultural due to how accessible pop music is across the world however, the targeted audience is mid-class white Caucasian families.



Dance

Dance artists are hard to identify and you can only identify them by headphones around their neck.

Dance has a fast energetic pace to it and is heavy on the ears.


The lyrics are usually irrelevant in dance tracks and are there to intensify a 'drop'.

The fans of dance music usually are white Caucasians.

Punk-Rock


  Pop-punk artists usually have crazy hairstyles and all black clothes, or bright clothing with            no in-between.


You can almost instantaneously identify a pop punk song with it's prominent guitar power chords and energetic bass guitarist. 

The lyrics contain different subjects that aren't always similar, for example Green Day often sings about boredom and 5 Seconds of Summer follow the pop side of the crowd with lyrics of girls and parties.

The edgy lyrics and rebellious themes makes the genre appealing for white  american male angsty teenagers. Stereotypically the artists target audience are lower class white boys who want some escapism in music that relates to them however, there are white middle/upper class kids who listen to this genre to rebel against their parents. the target audience are mostly in America, mainly because most of the artists are born there. The target audience have quite rebellious lifestyles that fits their taste in music

RnB



RnB's target audience is mainly black men in their 20's to 30's. Social class/house hold earnings of the audience are usually very wealthy and from tropical islands or wealthy parts of America their interests are mid-day drinking snd their lifestyle are usually quite 'boring'

RnB contains similar looking artists usually are black, covered in tattoos.

RnB has a slow tempo, soft, low voice and overall has quite a minimalist sound.

The lyrics don't shy away from sexual themes. 

In the UK RnB doesn't currently have its' own magazine, however you could find the more mainstream artists in pop magazines. This applies to radio stations as well.
